Four Things (x2)

A slight cold which I picked up while gallivanting on a rugby weekend in Paris has left me at home recuperating, primarily by way of watching the Winter Olympics and Buffy re-runs, while eating airport-bought Fois Gras and Chocolate. Ah, the decadence. The free time has however allowed me to notice that Free Stater has tagged me for the Four Things meme, so lets get started shall we?

[As I’m lazy, I shall add my own answers to Fergal’s, so that I don’t have to type as much- Editor]

Four jobs you’ve had in your life:
Barrister [Civil Servant]
Civil Servant [Stollen Prodder]
Salesman [Shop Assistant]
Waiter [McDonalds’ drone]

(So boring. How I wish I could say “Crocodile Hunter” or “Circus Ringmaster”)

Four movies you could watch over and over:
A Matter Of Life And Death [Back to the Future]
The Life Aquatic [Playtime]
Casablanca [Fletch Lives, it seems. How many times have I been thinking, ‘I really ought to get to bed before 12, as its a schoolnight and I … ooh, Fletch Lives is on BBC2. I’ll just look at that for a few stupid minutes’? Answer: A multitude of times.]
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off [Jason and the Argonauts. I love those fighting skeletons.]
(“I miss Ferris Matthew. Broadway Matthew is so….cold”. Quote from one of today’s many episodes of Buffy. I think it was Johnathon. Anyway, he’s preaching to the crowd here)

Four places you’ve lived:
Kildare [Dublin]
Galway [Galway]
Cologne [Em.. Cologne]
Dublin [Coolock. This is a cheat, but I don’t travel much.]

Four TV shows you love to watch:
The Simpsons [Doctor Who]
The News [Are there any other shows I love to watch? I’ve consumed more than the average lifetime’s television already, and I’m mostly unimpressed with what’s being served to me at the moment. Oh, wait, I have Bagpuss on DVD. Bagpuss, then.]
Live Sports [Ones where the Minister for Stupid Ideas is left opening and closing his mouth in a flappy manner. But they don’t seem to do those ones anymore.]
Buffy The Vampire Slayer [Programmes solely about the writing and composition of theme tunes of children’s programmes. They haven’t actually made any of these yet, but when they do, I will love to watch them.]
(I’m not a big TV watcher, hence the appearance of Sport and News in the list, even though they’re not proper TV programmes as such. And I’m not usually such a big Buffy fan, but it seems to be becoming a meme within a meme, so I thought I had to include it)

Four places you’ve been on vacation:
New York [Ballymoney]
Vienna [Dingle]
Paris [Sligo]
Amsterdam [All right, Budapest, Berlin and so on. But the first one is the most important one.]

Four websites you visit daily:
The Guardian [Damien Mulley’s blog, as he’s always got a good idea.]
RTE News [The News]
Arts & Letters Daily [Planet of the Blogs, via RSS]
Expecting Rain [Scaryduck]

Four of your favourite foods:
Seafood Chowder [I’m tired of coming up with things now. How many more are there?]
Raw Tuna [Hummus]
A really Good Rare Steak [Rich Tea Biscuits]
Fois Gras (!) [Caffrey’s Macaroon Bars]

Four places you’d rather be:
I’m happy enough where I am really, and though I’m tempted, for mere shock value, to quote a famous radio exchange regarding Bibi Baskin, I think I’ll stay where I am.
[Castle Avenue in Clontarf. Those people have copper pots hanging over their kitchens, and everything.]
[Em. ]

Four people who are now tagged:
I Think this meme has done the rounds of most Irish Bloggers by now, but I’ll tag my Tuppenceworth co-contributors for the sake of completeness.

Well, that was painless enough. And yet, one looks so boring when reduced to a bunch of random preferences on a page. Still, I think my refence to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off marked me out as a deep, romantic type.
