Daragh is keeping his nose to the grindstone over at his new blog.
The Government, responding to the periodic handwringing over the state of our electoral Roll, seems to be saying in uncredited briefings that they might fix the problem up by holding onto the enumerators hired for the Census.
Daragh points out the reasons why this
(a) can’t happen
(b) isn’t a proper response anyway.
I’d just add my own
(c) is not intended to happen, but rather to blow smoke at journalists until they get bored with the subject.

Míle buíochas for the reference Simon. Hopefully someone in the world of print-hackery might take notice of the 2 small problems that exist…
1) The enumerators will be sacked on 21st may
2) The enumerators will be sacked on 21st may.
Technically just one problem, but so big it deserves mentioning twice.
