Wood Communications and Alpha Vision Design would like you, the security forces of this or other states, to consider their lovely surveillance cameras.
Silicon Republic would like to facilitate them in making this invitation.
To recap on previous opinions I’ve expressed- ANPR coupled with casual storage of all data recorded by the system will not withstand legal challenge. The State is chasing a Will O’ The Wisp.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition and the casual storage of the data is symptomatic of a government in love with technology and the acquisition of data but lacking the slightest clue of how to actually manage information (e.g. the Electoral Register). Casual retention of information ‘just in case’ it might be needed is a dangerous concept – somewhat akin to an eccentric old relative keeping back issues of the Irish Times in the attic just in case that one article on page 7 might come in handy someday.
I am very interested in why anyone would find ANPR invasive. If your a law abiding citizen then you have nothing to worry about. It could help us in crime fighting, road tax evaders and much more.
Get a life. You sound like a tree hugging hippy. You have no rights,The state have u and ur hippy mates where they want them. Ha ha ha ah a ha ha ha hah ah ah ah ha ha hah ha hah ah a hah h
