I’m slowly, slowly grinding through the Paper Round raw notes for the Sunday World. I just wanted to express my pain at the kind of gunk that it involved. I’ll try to get it finished and do up a proper post, with a pie, before the weekend.

Paddy Murray- A page I couldn’t categorise. In the end, beaten by its gibberish, pointlessness and the overwhelming feeling I’d been trapped sitting beside a tramp in a crowded bus, I just wrote Mental at the top of the page.

I assume the category ‘complete and utter bollocks’ already exists.
That would be ‘made up’, brought in by Fergal after his work on The Star Sunday. (or The Irish Daily Star Sunday as their masthead prefers they be called)
Made up is slightly more polite, I’ll grant you that. Perhaps too polite for the Sunday World though.
More people would stay sane and culturally balanced if they bought Ireland’s Own instead of the Sunday World. Crime reporter Paul Williams knows his gory stuff, though.
I am the voice of the tramps on the buses. I hope you are not suggesting they should not have a voice.
“Murrqy” is, of course, a pseudonym
Hello Mr Murray (nee Murrqy), thanks for popping by.
I failed to realise that the bus tramp rambles effect was intentional. My apologies for that.
Joking aside, and since you’re here, can I say that I don’t think your contributions to that particular page can have been your best work. But that I appreciate good humour in the face of my response.
Try doing your best work at 53 years of age with a ten month old daughter!!!
Its a fair point well made and a strong argument for paternity leave.
