Though suffering the final indignity of having his death reported while he still lived, David Ervine has now, officially, passed away. A rare adult in a political world populated by kids, it was good to hear his sane voice, even if it often seemed as if no-one was listening. Strange to say, he will be greatly mourned down south. Perhaps that is progress of a sort.
