Nerd Alert!
The following post is about RSS feeds.
There are some sites I want to have an RSS feed for. Take eircom.net’s breaking news site, for example. But they don’t offer it.
There is a site called Feed43. It lets you make an RSS feed for any site you like, even if they don’t have one.
But you have to be really, really good at computer stuff to work it. (Defined as being in any way better than me. This is a perverse definition, but one I’m sticking with.)
Hopefully, somebody really, really good at computer things will have already made an RSS feed address for eircom.net’s top stories thing and will leave us all the address in the comments.
UPDATE: Earning his place in the pantheon, Cian of Progressive Ireland has now knocked up an rss feed. Now, when you want to find out what the stories behind the headlines in the Irish Times are, you need only click and the text will appear before you. No subscription, no mess.
All perfectly fair, as it is only a reuse of the information already provided for free. He’s just upgraded the eircom site so that it suddenly is of some use to people who like using rss readers to collect their news for them.

Ask and you shall receive, that site kicks ass.

new URL
http://feed43.com/feed.html?name=eircom-breakingnews
All effort to this end is very welcome.
But I fear neither of those URLs result in a feed that works for my reader.
ah got it here

Bad news though, only reloads the feed every six hours, which is shite. Still handy for web magazines and stuff jst not breaking news.

Well, I’m agog at your skillz.
Though to turn yourself into a legend, you could apply them to this page and create an RSS feed of the Irish Times news pages which doesn’t require a subscription.
