I don't usually post about my day job here (or at least not about the inner workings of the McGarr Solicitors office) but I did want to say something about the launch of Personal Injury Ireland. com this week. You can read E.
Some years ago, American writer Joan Didion wrote a memoir called The Year of Magical Thinking. It detailed a year of her life in which her husband died suddenly, and her daughter developed an ultimately fatal illness.
I was an audience member for RTE’s Questions & Answers on two occasions. I can remember almost nothing about either program. The first time, I think Mary O’Rourke was a panelist.
Just thought I'd let people know. I spotted a double charge on my account, for a pretty significant sum of money (is there any other kind?). When I rang up to query it, I was told Bank of Ireland have changed their computer systems recently (Two weeks or so).
One of the things that distinguish “internet natives” from mere n00bz is that the natives have developed certain skills in the business of arguing on the internet.
I write further to the well publicised intention of the Minister for Justice, Mr Dermot Ahern to introduce a criminal offence, punishable by a fine of up to €100,000 of blasphemy. It is the Minister’s declared intention to thereby give statutory provision for the Constitutional offence of blasphemy. However this approach is wrong both in principle and at a practical level.
I saw this via Suzie Byrne's site. As an introduction to the candidate, I think it is superb. Personality, location and a sense of a place in a community are snappily portrayed.
