Visits to RTE tend to be rare occurances for me. The last time I was there, Pat Kenny tripped over the mat in the front door and went in to a paroxym of rage. A few minutes later an assistant came down with a doleful looking man with a toolbelt and had him move the circular mat 90 degrees.
Wearing various hats the Irish Blog awards nominations have been good enough to recognise blogs I've an involvement with in a couple of categories. Voting closes on Friday night, so hurry to have your spake. Obviously, I'd ask that you bung a vote in for us here at tuppenceworth (Best Group Blog, Best Political Blog)and for McGarr Solicitors (Best Business Blog, Best Specialist Blog).
We've all had those moments when we arrive at the front door and look at our companion for the keys, only to find them looking back at us. It is this, I am sure, that metaphorically represents the reason the tuppenceworth. ie blog failed to shatter the hopes and dreams of all other nominated blogs in the Irish Blog Awards last year.
Jon Ihle of Backseat Drivers has a piece on the Irish Blog Awards in today's Irish Times. He mentions on his blog "You'll be happy to know I'm getting another good crack at the blog awards for the main news pages Monday. Should be a nice spread.
